Kate DiCamillo is the author of the hilarious series of books starring Mercy Watson, including MERCY WATSON GOES FOR A RIDE where Mercy ends up driving a car. She is also the author of THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX, which won the Newbery Medal; BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE, which received a Newbery Honor; THE TIGER RISING, a National Book Award Finalist; and THE MIRACULOUS JOURNEY OF EDWARD TULANE, winner of a BOSTON GLOBE-HORN BOOK Award. Her favorite books when she was a child were PINOCCHIO and WINNIE THE POOH.

CORNELIA FUNKE is a phenomenal author. She has written a number of excellent books for young people, mostly adventures and fantasies that involve memorable characters and fantistic situations. - Examine the covers and read the blurb on the back
- Look at the next book in a series
- Browse through authors and topics you enjoy
- Ask a friend for a suggestion
What To Do When You're Stuck on a Word
- Read around the word, read to the period, then go back.
- Ask yourself: "What would make sense?"
- Look at the pictures if there are any.
- Stretch out the word for the sounds. Do any parts of the word help you?
- Check the first sound in the word.

this week I am reading Hary Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The main charchter reminds me of Andrew Harvey because Andrew is a hard working,strong beliver,and best friend I ever had,like Harry Potter.
