Kate DiCamillo is the author of the hilarious series of books starring Mercy Watson, including MERCY WATSON GOES FOR A RIDE where Mercy ends up driving a car. CORNELIA FUNKE is a phenomenal author. She has written a number of excellent books for young people, mostly adventures and fantasies that involve memorable characters and fantistic situations. - Examine the covers and read the blurb on the back
- Look at the next book in a series
- Browse through authors and topics you enjoy
- Ask a friend for a suggestion
What To Do When You're Stuck on a Word
- Read around the word, read to the period, then go back.
- Ask yourself: "What would make sense?"
- Look at the pictures if there are any.
- Stretch out the word for the sounds. Do any parts of the word help you?
- Check the first sound in the word.

Im reading The Report Card - it's a really good book. And i finished Frindle last week.
Right now I'm reading Twilight. After I finish that, I want to read New Moon, and then Eclipse. My sister is on Eclipse and she said they are great books and people in my class are reading them also. I think I'll enjoy reading the series. -Jacob
I just finished New Moon the second book in the Twilight Saga.
It starts off with the girl named Bella who's the main character has a birthday and Cullen's (the vampire family)throw Bella a birthday party and she gets cut and one of the vampire in the family go after her. So Know I want to read Eclipse. - Chris D.
Since school started back, I have been reading the book Erupts. It is about a boy at school who nobody likes. He feels left out.
Right now, I'm reading A Series of Unfortunate Events. I really like it because it has a lot of detail. My favorite thing about the book is that Lemony Snicket talks to you. It is a very sad book though. I'm going to try to read all of the books in the series!! Love Jill.

This year we read Frindle as a class book and everyone loved it. I would like to pick another Andrew Clements book. I have already read The Report Card myself this year thought it was an entertaining novel. I have Lunch Money, The School Story, and The Last Holiday Concert in my class library. Can anyone recommend one of these for me to read next?

Hi Mr.Lancia. It's Kara from Ms.Dohertys class. Santa brought me a horse book called "Black Beauty". It was made back in, what, 1880's I think. So they wrote it a little differently, and it's a little hard for me. I only understood the first chapter very well, read chapter two, and couldn't understand it. By the way, I love horses and ponies! :)

My class finished reading a book called The Landry News.
I thought that this was an exiting book,where Cara Landry's newspaper gets her teacher in big trouble.
It shows that just one little thing can change things that turn big.For example Cara's mistake got spread all over the rest of the state, and was alo interviewed.To find out if her teacher gets the boot you'll have to read the book!

I liked the book it was interesting and sort of sad. The way the Author made you sort of feel like you were there and you could feel the passion and i just felt kind've heart felt at the end.See the book is about a girl who is sorta mean in the beggining to her teacher and then she starts writing a news paper called The Landry News and she turns out that the rest of her class loves the news paper and wants to help and then when the princble who doesnt like their teacher finds a article about something [he thinks is inppropriate] He takes it to court and you will have to find out for yourself what happens at the end I would recomend this book it is so exciting page by page you want to know more. You know what i mean it was one of those books you didnt want to put down. So you should read it. Hope you do have a good night or day or afternoon whatever time of day it is?

I thought it was a good book its about a girl named Cara Landry and she writes a news paper. Cara gets in troble alot because she starts handing out the paper at school, and Dr.Barns (the principal) dose not like that. you should read it I highly recamend it its a awsome book!

Mrs. Brunelles class read The Landry News by Andrew Clements together during the month of January and we just finished it today about 3 mimutes ago.
The books about a girl named Cara Landry who likes to make newspapers on her own. Cara has had to switch schools because she made a newspaper that said something that the principal didn't like. Her new schools name is Denton Elemantry School, and she has one of the worst fifth grade teachers, MR. LARSON!!! Mr. Larson thinks that the children learn by teaching themselves, and all Mr. Larson does is start the children off with something and then sits down at his desk, picks up his paper, fills up his cup with coffee, and just reads! Though with Cara in room 145, things are about to change. Starting with Mr. Larson. When Cara starts to right the Landry News again, the first edition makes Mr. Larson mad because the editorial is about him. Then, when more people help Cara with the newspaper, and they think the newspaper buisness will go fine, and Mr. Larson is ok too. But when the principal, Dr. Barns, asks Mr. Larson for copy of the Landry News every time a copy is published. Then the ninth edition comes out, and one story, one story, Dr. Brans dosen't approve of. Then he trys to use the story to fire Mr. Larson, does he get fired? No because Cara had a plan all along.

The class thought it would be fun to have a news paper going around the school Kara and the whole class made news papers they made 75 copes a kid wrote in the news paper he read to the whole school plus the kids parents. the parents started to cry. Hi Mr Lancia in Mrs Brunelles class our read aloud book was The Landry News by Andrew Clements. It was a really good book and I am glad Mrs Brunelle read it to us. Here is A little about the book . When Cara Landry moves to her new city she gets Mr Larson,a teacher who hasnt taught his class in about three years.When Cara gets to the room on the first day of school the noise is deafeaning. once she is there for about a week she gets a friend and ask's Mr larson to ask the librarian to use the big paper and computers . Later in the story when they published eight editions of the Landry News the ninth had something that Dr Barnes thought could get Mr Larson fired ...... A story about divorce... when the "council" is put together Mr larson is Kept at the school .. yay Mr Larson !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Hi Mrs.Lanica are book is Landry News By Andrew Clements. It is a very good book!The book is about a girl who writes a lot of bad things about people a the start but. It was a one person paper.But the theacher is upset because of something she writes. By the end of the year it becomes a class paper.The paper is all over the school then something is printed that should not be and he has to defend himself in court and makes a lession out of it.

One of the books I read over the summer is Schooled. In Schooled a boy living with his grandmother ( being home schooled) got sent from his hippe home to live with someone near the school because his grangmother got hurt. In the school he went to they voted him school president and did the annual joke on him ( let him make a fool of him self.) And that is all i'm going to tell you. So if you want to find out what happens, then I guess You'll have to read the book to find out!!!
